Job Description
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations of our fast-moving consumer goods company. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all machinery and equipment are properly maintained to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure the reliability and efficiency of all machinery and equipment
- Manage a team of maintenance technicians and provide guidance and support as they perform routine maintenance and repairs
- Coordinate with production and engineering teams to schedule maintenance activities and minimise disruptions to production
- Monitor and analyse equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement preventive maintenance measures
- Oversee the procurement of spare parts and maintenance supplies to ensure adequate inventory levels
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all maintenance activities
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a maintenance management role, preferably in the FMCG or packaging industry
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance best practices and techniques
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and maintenance standards
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is preferred
Day-to-day
- Conduct regular meetings with maintenance team to review performance and address any issues
- Collaborate with other department managers to optimise maintenance schedules and minimise downtime
- Review and approve maintenance budgets and expenditures
- Provide training and development opportunities for maintenance staff
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to maintenance operations
