Position Overview:

They are seeking an experienced Packaging Estimator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost estimation within the packaging manufacturing industry, particularly in corrugated and carton board packaging. This role is pivotal in their commitment to providing cost-effective packaging solutions to customers while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation: Calculate production costs for various packaging solutions, taking into consideration board grades, materials and production processes.

Material Analysis: Analyse board grades and materials to identify opportunities for cost optimisation without compromising quality and functionality.

Price Quoting: Prepare accurate and competitive price quotes for customers based on cost estimates and market conditions.

Bid Management: Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to manage the bid process effectively, ensuring timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries.

Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing for materials and components.

Cost Reduction Initiatives: Actively identify and implement cost reduction initiatives to improve profitability while maintaining product quality.

Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor pricing strategies to make informed pricing decisions.

Documentation: Maintain detailed records of cost estimates, quotes, and pricing strategies for reference and analysis.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and sales, to align cost estimates with operational capabilities and market demands.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Packaging Estimator within the corrugated or carton board packaging manufacturing industry.

Strong understanding of packaging materials, board grades, and manufacturing processes.

Proficiency in cost estimation techniques and pricing strategies.

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.

Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as Excel, ERP systems, and pricing software.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
