Business Development Manager
 
Location - Remote
The successful candidate will ideally be based in the North of England or Midlands and be prepared
to spend 1 day per month in the South East facility and to travel to customers around the country as required.
Job Purpose
To effectively manage and maximise business from an allocated customer base.
To generate new business opportunities by identifying target accounts and developing relationships,
in order to secure new sales and margin enhancement opportunities
 
Departmental Interfaces/Relationships
Internal – Reporting to the General Manager the appointee will liaise closely with the company’s technical and manufacturing personnel on site, and with colleagues
in the sales team, both internal and external, in order to ensure the achievement of his/her objectives.
 
First Year Objectives
To establish sound personal and professional working relationships with the relevant
personnel, within major target customer organisations.
To develop close working relationships with the team and all sales and customer service colleagues in order
to maximise business potential and to ensure that customer orders, requests and queries are dealt with speedily and effectively
To demonstrate the personal and business acumen necessary to gain the confidence of customers and colleagues at all levels
To have been perceived as making a positive and worthwhile contribution to the company by achieving sales targets in line with set objectives.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
To prepare and implement sales plans and initiatives
To identify and develop new product and market areas and their conversion into sales.
To develop new accounts within the specified territory
To ensure customers are fulfilling payment in line with contract terms and timeframe responsibilities.
To keep abreast of customer needs and developments in order to ensure that the company’s products
cater for current and future marketplace requirements.
To effectively report to management both verbally and in writing
 
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants will currently be working in a sales, market development or business development capacity with the packaging sector where he/she is
a major contributor to new business development. Ideally within the injection moulded sector, although this is not essential.
The appointee will be able to develop effective, multi-level contacts within the customer base, and
demonstrate the commitment, ambition and determination to succeed in a rapidly developing business.
